ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy)
ACT – Acceptance Commitment Therapy is a proven third-wave behavioural therapy or training that targets emotional flexibility. Research and science-based from Relational Frame Theory and rooted in pragmatic functional contextualism, ACT continues to prove itself within the professional and scientific bases of the world. The Corona Virus has bought anxiety, fear, stress and worry to the human race in a way some predicted and few have experienced. Daily struggles and challenges are real. Imagined struggles are amplified as far as the human mind can go, and that is almost without limit.
How Can ACT Today Help Me?

We are human and we have normal human feelings, thoughts and sensations. Right now, most are fighting unwanted thoughts, feelings and sensations. Often the fight is using methods that become a problem on their own. ACT Today is not specific about problems. ACT is truly transdiagnostic, providing evidence-based success across so many aspects of human struggle and behaviours. Simply put, ACT can help with most specific challenges. Addictions, Anger, Anxiety, Pain, Relationships, Mental Health issues.. the list is long. The solution is learning to use ACT and gain freedom.
We meet online almost every day. A group of like-minded persons who seek help and wish to help each other with a simple effective method that is ACT (acceptance commitment therapy – sometimes referred to as acceptance commitment training). The ACT Today Group is a mutual aid meeting for those choosing to learn and practice the use of ACT in their daily lives. RedChair is happy to host and provide guidance, yet can take no responsibility for the individuals in the group.
We are pretty sure our insurance does not cover this as normal counselling or therapy. We are sure that the online world is not as secure as we all like. We know that groups meeting will have issues and challenges if they are learning and practising change.
Therefore, we ask that you engage with the group in a manner supportive of your own confidentiality, personal online safety and well being.
